OMgoodness, Madison Renee is a Teenager!

And from the looks of it, Charlie is either really excited or really scared about that!

Make a Wish, Mah~Mah!

As most, if not all, of our celebrations begin, we made a trip to DQ for an ice cream cake. Ma, Papaw Dave, Jessa, and Josiah stopped by to wish the birthday girl well. We know they just came for the cake, though.

We upgraded her cell phone to a newer model for $1.00 as her gift. I'd like to think that a sister is more gift than she could ever want. One of the greatest things in life is having a sister, and one doesn't always appreciate that bond, connection, until she is older, and perhaps has children. I cherish the relationship I have with each of my sisters as each relationship is drastically different, but nevertheless, perfect.

Back to Madison, my wish for you on your 13th birthday is that you know just how much we love you each and everyday of your life. You are perfect just as you are. You are caring and considerate beyond your years. You are intelligent and creative. You are quite the comedian. You are hard-working and independent. You try your hardest at everything you attempt. You are athletic, but with uncanny sportsmanship for your age. You are gorgeous. Inside and out. You are Amazing!

I hope all your dreams come true. Your existence has surely made all of mine a reality!

I love you!

Bathing Beauty

We had to wait 6 days for her umbilical cord to come off to give her first bath.

Don't let these pictures confuse you...She hated every minute of it!

Afterward, though, she slept like a baby...for 5 straight hours!
What's that? It's bath time again? Okay!

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

There are no words...

Homebuddies

We had lots of visitors those first weeks home. Louie and Maran stopped by with some adorable onesies, an outfit, and bibs. One of the onesies says "Little Sister."

Mike, Brandi, Tyler and Jayden stopped by with Delaney's first ornament, a pink rocking horse!

I don't know, I'm thinkin future babysitter?!?

Stacey stopped by to hold the goodness too!

GTL Baybeee!

According to the agreements of my early discharge, I had to take Delaney to the pediatrician the day after Thanksgiving to have her bilirubin level rechecked. It was 7 when we left General. At the doctor's office it was 19. They admit anything over 16. So we headed to Children's because it has the only 24-hour tanning salon.
Things went well in comparison to Charlie's jaundice. He was there 3 days and his levels were as high as 24.
The hardest part was keeping the goggles on her eyes. Any patent people out there should look into redesigning these so the mom isn't constantly putting them back on or readjusting them, waking the already angry baby EVERY stinkin time. The one time I did fall asleep, I woke up to find them on her neck!
We were there from noon until 8am and were able to leave because she was down to 14.

Missing Persons Report

Does anyone know where Madison is?
Check the beds!

This is the scene we would find anytime Madison was left to hold Delaney...

Delaney is like Madison's personal little Ambien. When asked about it, Madison just says that "She's just so warm."

Delaney and Cash Sittin in a Tree...

Delaney had her first date with Cash Alan. He is a couple months older than she. She slept through the entire date despite all of our attempts at waking her. Boys are sooo boring! He pooped while he was here and she passed gas, loudly, several times. Such the lady!
It didn't concern us one bit that they were sleeping together on their first date, as it gave Emily and I more time to catch up and compare delivery stories.

Delaney and her future MIL, Emily, one of my good friends from highschool. I think they'll get along famously!
